Music videos are great for conveying a deeper meaning in songs and can give context where some songs lack their meaning literally.
Some songs don't need music videos whereas others do, and even then, do they even need a coherent narrative.
One of my favourite music videos is Fatboy Slim's "Weapon Of Choice".
Music videos are great for showing what the artist envisioned rather than leaving it completely up to the listeners' imagination.
I made a survey about music videos to collect data
5 out of 6 people asked have thought about and have a favourite music video.
